netbios name length samba
when i gave then name of 8 or more then 8 characters in the netbios name option of samba it shows me the share but when i gave the netbios name less than 8 characters it says " you are not authorized to access from this station" what is the problem;
netbios name = pakaims ; doesn't work netbios name = pakaims1 ;works well why it shows this behaviour |
Samba Question
I am using samba to on Red Hat Linux 7.0
There is a problem occuring with the NetBios Name. When I gave the netbios name of lenght greater then 7 characters then I can see the shares on windows client by simply doing "\\<netbios-name>" but when I gave the netbios name of lenght less then or equal to 7 characters then the windows client says the "You are not authorized to access from this station". Can you tell me why samba is showing this kind of behavious Quote:
