Net Time on Linux

Hi, I'm running a SuSE 7.3 server that acts as fileserver and gateway for my 2 Win2000 workstations.

Most of you know the option of Windows to set the date and time of the workstation to the date and time of the server. (I believe it was something like NET TIME)

Now is there a possibility that I do the same on my win2000 workstations to set their date and time to the date and time of my Linux Server.

I will then make a loginscript that launches every time I start my workstations.

http://freshmeat.net/projects/ntp/ is probably what you need (although I know nothing about NTP clients for Win2k)

in the global section of the smb.conf file

time server = Yes

then execute
ps -ef |grep mbd |awk '{print $2}' |xargs kill -SIGHUP

make a logon.bat file in windows.

net time /set \\ip_of_timeserver /y and put in a netlogon dir or in the startup menu
