Hmmm ... that's weird. I put that in but I still can't connect to the ftp server. I'm running ProFTPD on it and when I try to access it on my laptop, it acts as if it doesn't even exist. It can't even connect to itself. I run ftp on it while proftpd is running and type "open 192.168.1.103" (on a router) and it says "500 Sorry, no server available to handle request on 192.168.1.103." Arrr, I don't get it. The configuration is valid and it's set to run on port 21! Dang. What's going on? No other services are using port 21 I believe. I checked it and nothing on 21 showed up.
Sorry to bring up an old post, but it takes off from the end of thread. When I run setup and configure stuff, it works, cool, but when I restart, everything is set back to what it used to be. Is there a command I should run to permanently set the settings or something? Thanks!
Thinking that the settings have been restored is just my prediction though, I could be wrong ... when I run setup and go to the network settings, it appears to be at default. Buuuut, this might just be the way it works, not necessarily meaning that the settings have been restored. Is that it?
