Question Need PAP/CHAP in Linux

Hi all
I need to have an CHAP/PAP authentication in my application that I am programming in C. What I didnt find any where yet is that is there any library(API or builtin functions) for using CHAP/PAP features in Linux or I will have to implement and program CHAP/PAP by myself for my program
Regards
