Need my own static IP and VPS, what is a good hoster?


Considering getting a VPS or, failing that, a dedicated server. Furthermore, I want it to have a static IP exclusively for myself and no one else. What hosting company would you go for?

Intended use is to set up a VPN and a remote desktop in the VPS that allows you to visit sites and always show the same static IP that cannot be spoofed by absolutely no one because it is static and exclusively allocated to me. Is this possible?

Looking at linode, how do you know in which plan you get your own fixed IP?

What's the term to search for, "static IP" is not right because it just means manually set IP and can still be shared with others. I want my own fixed IP. What's the term for that?
