Need help to configure Leased Line Server

I would like to know if anybody know how to configure a PPP Server for use with analogue leased lines.

I am trying to connect some of my buddies with the lines so that we can have our own sort of wan-network. I have already done research in terms of the hardware to use however I have not come across a guide that will tell me how to configure a Linux box (or what distribution to use) for use with the analogue leased lines as well the neccessary routing information.

I also need to make sure that the line stays up continuously and need to enable PPP compression to speed up the lines throughput. I would like to enable a firewall on this server and connect it to my existing home network as well.

I would also like to know on how to configure the clients to work with this setup.

All help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

As far as I know you setup as for modem but omit the dialer info (obviously) and the 'modem' param when loading pppd.

From what I remember when setting pppd up for demand dialing most of the HOWTOs covered leased lines and null modems aswell.
