nbtstat -A = ????
If I'm looking for the netbios name of the machines on my network I use netbios -A x.x.x.x at an NT command line prompt and get:
C:\>nbtstat -A x.x.x.x NetBIOS Remote Machine Name Table Name Type Status --------------------------------------------- DATAMAN <00> UNIQUE Registered FREDDY <00> GROUP Registered DATAMAN <20> UNIQUE Registered DATAMAN <03> UNIQUE Registered GHOST6 <03> UNIQUE Registered DATAMAN <01> UNIQUE Registered MAC Address = 00-00-00-00-00-00 What is the equivalent for linux? :Pengy: |
study samba manual
i do not remember exactly but above means the following: <00> - the machine is just in the network <20> - the machine gives a disk or printer share <03> - the machine is running a messanger (f.ex. WinPopup) <01> - the machine is a master browser |
Thanks Dorian but I'm looking for the equivalent of the NBTSTAT command for Linux/samba. My message was a little confusing, I apologize.
