Nating


Hi There,

I'am totally confused on the Nating side

I got few public ip from my ISP

Here is the info

WAN IP : 124.124.89.***/30 (CPE Router IP - 124.124.89.***,Reliance IP: 124.124.89.*** Subnet : 255.255.255.252)

LAN IP: 124.124.116.1**/29 ( CPE LAN IP: 124.124.116.***, USABLE IP: 124.124.116.*** to 124.124.116.***, SUBNET : 255.255.255.248)


I use e2000 series wireless router

My local ip is 192.168.1.115 Subnet 255.255.255.0 DefaultGateway : 192.168.1.1

So how do i set my host public ip ?

Quick help will be greatly appreciated

If your ISP doesn't do DHCP, then you need to set up the assigned IP address in the router.

My router has a setting for 'Static IP'. I expect you would have something similar where you can set up the side connecting to your ISP.

My ISP uses PPPoE, the ISP assigns a IP address any time I power cycle the modem ( not my router ).

You may have to contact your ISP to see how they want you to connect.
