How is the machine connected to the internet?
Broadband or Dail-up
If broadband is there a router in between?
If this is the case then port forwarding from the external IP to the internal FIXED Static IP of machine needs to be setup.
Then finally the machine either needs firewall off or the needed ports opened to it.
