Arrow NAT Configuratuin


Hello

Every one

I am using My windows xp professiona machin to share internet for 5 Computers with juts enablining Internet connection sharing (i think its calls NAT) ?

Same thing i want to do in Redhat linux 9, on same xp machin i am using linux redhat9 . how i can enable Direct internet connection sharing, please give me easy and best way step by step

The equivalent of ICS in Linux is masquerading, and it is handled by iptables. Take a look at the iptables how-to or the masquerading how-to and you should be all set. Alternatively, you could use a proxy server like squid to deliver the Internet to your other machines.

And as always, when/if you get stuck, post a question and we'll help you through it.

Hello

Thanks yoy very much for repply, masquerading, and iptables are services or software and is its already in linux version redhat7.3 or 9 or i will have to install and configure.
and i just will have configure masquerading and itable autometicly work for that or both software need sparets installation and configurations.

i will work on it and will post if face any problem

iptables shipped with every version of RH above 7.0 I believe. And masquerading is simply a NAT function of iptables.
