named.cong in RHE AS4

would someone explain about localdomain and localhost
in named.conf file on RH enterprise AS4 ?

zone "localdomain" IN {
type master;
file "";
allow-update { none; };

zone "localhost" IN {
type master;
file "";
allow-update { none; };

and another question... I saw these lines in

IN {
type master;
file "named.ip6.local";
allow-update { none; };

does it mean it support IPV6 ?

tnx .

I don't know what localdomain does, but localhost just allows it to resolve the "localhost" name to using DNS.

BIND does support IPv6 but you have to have it set up and enabled on the interface and your LAN will have to be IPv6-enabled too.
