i have a problem with a dns server. the server will look up names for all IP addresses except for the ip addresses that are in the same range as my server. ex everquest.com-> 64.37.156.16, and my server 64.114.xxx.xxx. with wsping pack pro, i can find the servers with lookup but still cant ping them.

Hi..

This is very simple

U are using a class A address. I think ur subnetmask may be 255.0.0.0.

U can able to resolve the name through ur nameserver. when u are trying to ping it will search locally.

Since u are using a valid calss A address u cant reach this Class A network.

Try to use Intranet IP address like 10.0.0.0 or 172.16.0.0 or 192.168.0.0 dependig on ur network size
