Nagios Configration

Hello,

Can some on e help me to configure nagios to monitor custom port on a remote linux server..

Hello,

Yes, of course. In the first place Google can. What port do you want to monitor and what do you want to monitor? Availability, usage, traffic? Do you have NRPE installed on the remote server or are you using different checks (by http, ftp, ssh, smtp, tcp, udp, ...)?

The more information you provide the better someone can help out.

Kind regards,

Eric

Hi,

Do you just want to monitor for availability or more in detail, like traffic monitoring?

Kind regards,

Eric

if you are monitoring tcp ports, then you can use the check_tcp plugin.
no need for nrpe when monitoring remote ports. just specify the port you want to monitor for each check.
