my website .com


hi

I have been bugged with one problem my website "mysite.com" can be accessed by only the ipaddress of the server while i am not able to access it with the text mywebsite.com but can access it with ip address 196.168.25.239

wonder y i suppose it has something to do with the dns config can someone help

When you ping mywebsite.com from an address without mywebsite.com in the hosts file what ip address is returned?

Is yoursite.com registered?
If so, you would need to check the DNS entry you have pointing to yoursite.com. You can check this setting at the site you used for registering your domain.
Just login to your account and there should be a link to their DNS server registry.

when i ping mywebsite.com i get a different ipaddress altogther the one which i had earlier wat i am i supposed to do.

If i ping frm the host machine it gives me the correct ip address while when i try doing it frm a different machine it has different ip
