My proxy thread takes alot of resources? How to track cause?

Hello, i setup proxy on my VPS according to this manual and quite often i started to see this process on the top of processlist

Code:
ssh -p XX -f -N -D 0.0.0.0:1080 localhost
http://i.snag.gy/STGT2.jpg

Also the proxy stopped working, cant connect websites thru it, works some little time after reboot but then fails

So im curious which logs or things i need to lookup. i went thru /var/log but no ssh file, no suspicious things.

thx

Using 'ssh' in that way it doesn't do anything but encrypt and shove traffic over the tunnel. If it's high in the process list it means it must be doing some work.

I doubt that's ssh's fault as we don't knwow what you're connecting to, what that service status is and if any errors occurred. If ssh stops working rebooting the machine is Windows behavior: with Linux that's seldomly (and I mean seldomly) necessary.

Once 'ssh' runs it gets out of the way. It doesn't "log" (you have to pipe output yourself if that's appropriate) nor does it spit out messages (you have to set single or multiple "-v"'s yourself).
