My proxy is blocking my radio station port

Hello,

In order to connect to the internet when i am at work i have to use a proxy server; the problem is that this proxy also blocks port xxxxx which is used by a internet radio station. Is there any way to be able to listen to that radio station?

Have you considered that your employer has blocked that port for a reason? Do you think you should degrade the bandwidth of everyone else for your entertainment?

It needs less than 15 kb/s, not so much i think for a corporate network. Besides these pointless remarks, does anybody here have a solution for it?

Kind regards

It's their network, so you have to follow their rules. And helping you circumvent those rules is against LQ Rules.

If asking nicely doesn't do the trick, you're just out of luck. And while 15kbs may not seem like so much, 15kbs x EveryoneInTheCompany could put a serious crimp in the corporate bandwidth, and that is likely what IT is worried about.
