my network works but i can't get websites online

I'm a newbie so I'm trying to get mandrake online. I have a cable connection thru a router and there are no problems pinging to that router or to other computers on the router. The problem is I can't get connected to a website. If anyone can help me to fix the problem I'd be very pleased. Karel from Belgium.

Have you set your default gateway to be the router? If not, type the router IP as yur default gateway.

this might be the right place. i've had a 2k box sharing the connection thru redhat7.3, since installing 8...
i can no longer get pages thru the 2k box.

i'm using roaring penguin on eth1 with specified dns and firewall set to masquerading (just as before).

in the network configuration eth1 is set to obtain ip using dchp.

eth0 (connecting to my 2k box) is set to specfic ip (with the ip and subnet, of course.

under hosts i have my rh computer's name and localhost.localdomain, and my 2k box's ip. for dns i have both of my isp's.

no problems getting pages with the redhat box. and both can ping the other.
it seems as if something is just not right though
