It worked! So it seems the problem has nothing to do with my ISP.

In case my IP is really blacklisted by GoDaddy (for SSH access) and, at the same time, they claim it's not, I don't see how I could fix the problem.

So I can access linuxshell.picrofo.com/ with SSH/password authentication and, from there, once logged in, I can access my GoDaddy hosting with SSH/password authentication.

But I can't directly access my GoDaddy hosting with SSH/RSA key pair authentication.

This is ridiculous.

So far, I can't say for sure if it's a SSH config issue on my side, OR on server side, OR a 'too many failed attempts' blocking on server side, OR something done by my ISP, OR something done by the hosting company.

Although I'm not expert on using nmap or wireshark, any hint on how I could find out what's *really* going on would be great. I'm going to explore that anyways.

Thanks everybody for your help so far.

Try setting the port for the SSH server to listen to from 22 to 4222 (or something high enough so it is in the 'free port' range. Unless they are blocking the SSH protocol you should be able to get round port level blocking and be secure.

AFAIK, I can't change this server setting because it's a shared hosting.

Interestingly, while I was able to SSH to linuxshell.picrofo.com/ and, once logged in, to SSH to my GoDaddy hosting, I can't do that anymore because I made several failed attempts (I inadvertently mispeled the user name).

I tried again after several hours and it was still impossible. So, yes, I now think it's GoDaddy which blocks the IP after too many SSH failed authentication (with fail2ban or something similar, to mitigate possible SSH attacks). But it's a shared hosting so I don't think there is much I can do.

LATE UPDATE: I've recently moved my shared hosting from godaddy (I was getting so f***ing tired of their lame and idiotic so-called tech support) to hostgator, and now SSH (and everything) works flawlessly. So, the conclusion is: godaddy sucks, better stay away from them.
