my ehternet card

I have installed Redhat Linux 7.1 on my ibm thinkpad and i can't get my ibm 10/100 etherjet cardbus adapter to initialize at all. i've added the card to etc/pcmcia/config and still no go. everytime i use insmod to insert the tulip module i keep getting an error. i'm still confused as to whether i should have bound it to the tulip driver or the xircom_cb driver. with the xircom driver it tells me that the Receiver failed to deactivate and the Transmitter failed to deactivate. I'd appreciate any help anyone can give.
