Multiple physical web servers behind one IP

Hello all,

Here's what we are trying to do. We have one single static IP address from our DSL provider and several physical web servers. Some are Windows and some are Linux. Is there a way we can stick an old Linux machine on the DSL modem and have it direct the HTTP requests to the proper web servers? And is there a way to do this so that it is transparent to the clients?

I think I need to be using Squid to do this, but I'm really not sure. Can anyone point me in the right direction with a tutorial or manual I can look at? Is what we are trying to do even possible?

Thanks a lot,
-Nick

you could do this with squid, but i'd probably err towards using the ProxyPass and ProxyPassReverse directives on apache.
