Multiple NIC acting as single IP

Is there any way to bind and/or combine multiple NIC to act like an single IP? Basically there would be two machines each with two NICs each. I would like to increase the throughput/bandwidth between them.

check out the bond module. this will create a bond on two nics allowing the bandwidth to be combined as you want.

Ah.. excellent, thanks for the info. Does anyone know if there is a Windoze equivalent? I would like to setup a XP box to do the same thing.

From what I can tell, Windows XP does not support teaming its self, but it can be done by drivers provided by the cards. Is that right? If so, do the card have to be the same make & model?

Does this module combines NICs of different vendors/chipsets?
