MS Password Internet Proxy + Linux workstation

I am at work, and I am trying to get this linux box to have internet access. The network is setup so that these particular workstations have to connect to the internet through a filtered proxy which is password protected.

In windows, you simply open IE and the password box pops up, enter the username/pass/domain, and your off. But in linux, I have no clue how to do this. I went into mozilla's advanced preferences, and added the proxy and port, but I get no password box, and therefore no internet access either.

Any Ideas?

Well, this thread should be given attention by experts here.

It’s quite a weird problem; maybe this problem would come up if ZAKL use a MS-ISA/MS Proxy server with an NT domain controller as an authentication server to pass through the Internet. But it seems he’s using a Linux for his proxy server.

I’m bit excited too this concern be solved!

The first was correct, it is in fact a Microsoft Proxy server, but most likely is authenticating via active directory, because they don't run any NT4.0 servers. I really don't know what to think, but my boss installed mandrake, and I really want to install the company software and samba and stuff and see how everything runs but I need internet connectivity. I guess nobody has done this before, or had this come up.

Oh well, if somebody has or does, and figures it out, let me know.

There is a program called aps098...
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ntlmaps/
All you do is un compress it, edit the server.cfg file with the windblows domain, your user name and password, save that and then run the program... ./main.py
The other thing you need to do is tell your browser that you are using a proxy server and config that pointing at yourself 127.0.0.1 port 5685...that could be the wrong port, you will see the correct port in the config file and when you run the program..
