MRTG configuration issues !!! Urgent!!
Hi ..Iam trying to enable MRTG on my debian box (router/gateway) so that I can monitor the bandwidth usage. I do not want to opt for another solution untill Iam totally desperate with the configuration of MRTG.
My mrtg.cfg file is found at /etc/mrtg.cfg My mrtg dir is at /var/www/mrtg Ive installed everything needed through apt-get and now Ive been trying to configure it for an hour. Note, that i did not configure snmp ( do I have to do that and how ?) I type the following command as root: cfgmaker --global 'WorkDir: /var/www/mrtg' --global 'Options[_]: bits, growright' --output /etc/mrtg.cfg public@localhost I get the following output: --base: Walking ifSpeed SNMP Error: Received SNMP response with error code error status: noSuchName index 1 (OID: 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.5) SNMPv1_Session (remote host: "localhost" [127.0.0.1].161) community: "public" request ID: -715909896 PDU bufsize: 8000 bytes timeout: 2s retries: 5 backoff: 1) at /usr/share/perl5/SNMP_util.pm line 627 SNMPWALK Problem for 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.5 on public@localhost::::::v4only at /usr/bin/cfgmaker line 171 --base: Writing /etc/mrtg.cfg --base: Writing /etc/mrtg.cfg |
