mounting problems as normal user

mandrake 10.1

basically i have managed to mount my windows share folder to my linix box and have saved the configureation in /etc/fstab using the mandrake control centre samba mounting tool.

my problems is when i reboot it places icon of the share onthe desktop but i cannot seem to mount it as a normal user . I get the following error message

smbmount must be installed suid root for direct yser mounts (501,501)

smbmnt failed: 1

pleace check that the disk is entered correctly

erm how can i set permission for normal user to mount it?
