Mounting network share with Chinese Filenames
I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post it - if its not, sorry.
Basically, I have a windows share which has chinese filenames. When I try to mount as smbfs filetype, I can get the permissions correct but then the chinese filenames becomes '?'
sudo mount -t smbfs -o iocharset=utf8,uid=moses,gid=moses,fmask=644,dmask=755 //dan/music /dan/music
If I use cifs filetype, I can get the filenames to appear correctly, but the permissions aren't.
sudo mount -t cifs -o iocharset=utf8,uid=moses,gid=moses,file_mode=0644,dir_mode=0755 //dan/music /dan/music
I've read somewhere that mount.cifs ignores uid, gid, file_mode and dir_mode if the filesystem supports these... so I guess that is why they are not set... But Nautilus is able to access these smb shares without any problems - it has proper permissions and the chinese filenames are correct.
So I'm just wondering if I could mount these network shares in the same way Nautilus does. Thanks in advance.
