I get a new machine and I want to add this machine to our cluster. After installing the system, I try to mount the file system on from jesse computer. I used exactly the same configuration as old computers. But the new computer will not work. I think the only differences here is the ip address. The new machine has a new IP address, which is probably not accepted by the server 'jesse'
I already change the file
/etc/exports
/etc/hosts.allow
/etc/sysconfig/iptables
what else can i do to get this working?

by the way, the error massege I get is
mount.nfs: mount to NFS server 'jesse' failed: timed out, retrying

I can use ssh at both the new machine and jesse.

Have you checked the log files on jesse to see if it's rejecting the request for some reason? And did you restart the iptables service after changing the rules?

thanks. I restart the iptables service and solved the problem. I just edit the iptables file to add the new ip address before. do you know a good way to add a new ip address to the iptables? thanks

Normally, I'll perform the iptables changes by manually executing commands in the shell, then run service iptables save to write the rules to the /etc/sysconfig/iptables file.
