mount linux drive - samba duh

OK, of course I've looked around and done the research on getting this working. I actually had it working very easily on my previous install of Knoppix, but I blew that away and am running RH 9 now. I just want to map a drive with access to my /music dir on there. I tried syncing up the users between the machines so I can get there via My Network Places but previously I had just mapped the drive using \\HOSTNAME and connected with a different user/pass. "testparm" seems fine, no errors. Since I know it'll be asked for, this is the barebones smb.conf I was using:

[global]
guest account = pcguest
workgroup = WORKGROUP
security = SHARE
server string = Samba Server

[files]
comment = Files
path = /files
read only = no
public = yes

thanks in advance, I'll be forever grateful to get this working again.

would like to help, if I can, but the way your question is worded seems pretty confusing. Could you re-word your question
