mosix

Is anyone else out there using or trying mosix? BTW - Mosix is the free Linux clustering software. Well, I have setup a 2 machine cluster at work to play with. I am trying to come up with something fairly easy to demonstrate the cluster to my boss. I haven't thought of anything yet. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

I haven't played with mosix yet (for those who missed the earlier thread - http://www.mosix.org) but I'd say that if you setup 2 workstations, had one heavily loaded and then showed him the processes being moved to the lightly loaded machine it should show him how he can maximise his hardware investment by making all his machines work for him all the time.

cheers

Jamie..

hmm.. good point..but what I was really wondering is what I would use to keep the machine "heavily loaded". I also would think that it would have to be something that mosix supports. i.e. certain types of processes aren't really helped by mosix. I guess I could compile the kernel and see if that worked. Maybe I could compile 3 kernels at a time? hehe..ok..I'll go now...
