more dhcpd issues

Background:
I have 2 NIC's, eth0 and eth1.
eth0 = my external internet access
eth1 = my dhcpd server

dhcp does go out OK, and all computers attached to the network pick up appropriate IP's, however.

DHCP does NOT start when i boot. in addition, eth0 does not grab a dynamic IP from my ISP either... in order to get these to work I have to

"dhclient eth0"

then

"dhcpd"

everything is fine after that, but if I want to reboot remotely, I will lose connection to my box.

any help would be appreciated.

well i'm so thankful for all the tremendous help.

anyways I found out that the binary install for some reason overwrites your /sbin/dhclient file, i found a backup and replaced it, and no problems now.
