More BIND... Can dig, but i can't look it up!

Hey everyone.

I wont lie, this isn't mission critical, im just playing with BIND9... But I thought, after reading all teh documenation that I could get my hands on that I ahd got it down. But, like the title says, I can dig, but no other lookup works.

I have verified my host.conf file, to ensure that I am bypassing hosts and going straight to dns. My resolv.conf file has the correct dns pointers in it. I can dig the ns record and any a or cname record on the network... from any client on the network.

However, once I try to use any other application, nslookup or jsut resolve a domain name: ping: unknown host linlap.foobar.com (held back the real domain name)

I am running bind 9, deb 3.0_rc4 sarge and... anything else, please ask. Thanks for your help,

Chris

># nslookup <enter>
>server <enter>
> exit <enter>

And the post the output. Also, post your /etc/resolv.conf.

Default server: 127.0.0.1
Address: 127.0.0.1#53

resolv.conf:

search
nameserver 127.0.0.1

Thats all I got

Thanks,
Chris
