monitoring and managing network


hi
we are living in a hostel and we have installed
a wireless. now i want to manage the network connections
i want to enable and disable any computer to access the
network.
we have ubuntu and windws machines. now can some one
tell me if there is any tool to do this.

Your wireless access point should have all that functionality already built in.

why should it?? there's a *lot* of functionality i'd never expect a bog standard home wireless router to do. tried something like Coovachilli? http://coova.org/wiki/index.php/CoovaChilli maybe via dd-wrt or openwrt http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Chillispot
