module loading problem

System Info:
I am using Red Hat 8.0 and kernel 2.4.18. My Wireless Card is Compaq.

When my program try to use Wirless Lan card I get error that module cannot be loaded.

1) During roboot I get error
eth1: Error –5 writing Tx descriptor to BAP
2) When I execute iwconfig, it doesnot show all the information it should show about my wireless interface.
3) My card was working fine unless I tried to compile a kernel with different configuration. I am still using the previous kernel.
