Installing Network Simulator 2 (NS2) on Ubuntu 14.04 ? as in that NS2?

getting its source code and modifying it can be done in any text editor, compiling it requires a terminal and gcc or equivalent to be installed, along with the source libs and libs needed to be compiled against it.
