Unhappy modem problem


hi everybody

i have win98 and installed AMR internal modem (not a PCI or ISA) , which is not at all detected by linux 7.0. it seems linux does not take the driver for this. if anybody could help me on this, please.

Hello

Linux does not support winmodems. This is because some of the functionallity of modem is being done in windows vxd driver.

You must use a modem that appears to computer as a normal serial port modem.

They have started writing software for win modems and a few of them are working now.

look up linmodems on google

and get a real modem

external is the best, although you pay a little more for it, it has lights and stuff that are way cool to look at when you are stoned.
