Modem not detected

I have a PCI modem. It's a Dynamode 56K modem.

I am running Suse 7.0. I ran the setup to configure the modem, but it was not detected. How do I get it to work?

I also have an RTL8139? network card. This was detected successfully. The rest of my network is on Windows and the setup process failed.

some modems wont be detected, they are called host controlled or software modems or winmodems, you need a special driver for them. you can get detailed info at

http://www.linmodems.org

happy hunting
