modem lights start/stop commands for fedora c2
 

what should i use as the start and stop commands for connecting to the internet on fedora core 2, test 3?

i have a standard dial up modem that i can activate in the networking control panel, but the modem lights panel applet doesnt do anything when clicked. it uses ifup and ifdown by default. when i type in /sbin/ifup ppp0 at the command line as root or user i get:

configuration for ppp0 not found.

any suggestions?
