modem / internet problem, no help in newbie section
 

I use a dial up connection with a HARDWARE MODEM and I just upgraded from 9.1 to 10 official and now it takes 3 to 5 minutes to load a web page versus seconds in 9.1. I dont know the terminology but you know the sound that you here (on the phone) when trying to make the initial connection to the server, it continues to do that at about ten second intervals, (never noticed that happening with 9.1. It seems that the computer is never sure its connected and sends the initial connection signal (dont know correct nomenclature) and is only receiving info in between the initial connection querry (tones).
