I have the same modem as you. The "Rockwell" chipset is the same as the Connexant chipset and you can find the drivers at the Linuxant website --> here:
http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hcf/...c3dcfddc79f134
Use the left panel there to navigate and you gotta read everything - too much to explain how to do it all here. Just make sure that you installed and ran the "modemlist.sh" file that you can get - that will tell you
exactly what chipset and vendor id your modem is...
Only bummer is that since I installed the i386 kernel headers I can't use the "HCF" driver but only the "HSF" one... so I can't use the FAX feature of my modem which is a real b*tch!
Guess I won't be using Linux for too many things aside from browsing the web. Sadly, but out of necessity, I rely on MS Office Photoshop, Illustrator and my fax/modem for work (not for ppp use - I have broadband).
I thought I could substitute some programs in linux ... but no fax = no work done = no linux for SOHO = back to Windows for me!
