i also have an internal network,its a davicom ehtenet card
do i
need to configure the ethernet card also to run the net??
i have
a winmodem ie a pctel hsp56 modem,i downloaded
the files
for the modem,
its written in the pctel howto webpage
that i need to
compile the kernel for this i did
after that when
i run the ./configure --with -hal=i8xx thais is
got-
configure: error: modversions.h is missing -
you should configure
your kernel first!
now my kernel is a rh8.0 and
its in usr/src/linuc2.4.14-18
or something like that
now how do i get configure it,
i suppose the files should be by default in
usr/src/linux.
could someonw pls tell me where to create a symbolic link or
how and when to create it??
when i tried to create a symbolic link with the command
bash$ ln -s /usr/src/linuc2.4.14-18//usr/src/linux/ it
gives me In command not found
when do i create a link ??
i even tired
badsh$ ./configure--with-kernel-includes=usr/src/linuc2.4.14-18
during running the configure script,but it doesnt work
can anyone help me out??

the kernel compilation worked fine
butr that is not the real problem,the problem is how do i create a link form usr/src/linux-2.4.18-14 usr/src/linux
modversion.h is found in the above dircetory not how do i
get it usr/src.linux dirceotry because i suppose by default
/configure searches for /usr/src.linux
let me rephase if your configure is looking for a file,"modversion.h" and your configure is looking for this file in "/usr/src.linux" correct. Maybe your looking for something like:
