messaging question
 

i have a question for anybody who can answer. in windows you can go to the command prompt and use the net send command to send a message to another windows machine.

is there anyway of sending a message from a linux machine to a windows machine?

i am at work and can ssh into my linux box at home. my wife is on the XP box that we use as our workstation. i want to send a message to her from the linux box, does anybody know how to do this?????????????

you'd do it using smbclient at the most basic level. check the mapage for the correct options for sending messages via samba. the -M flag afaik
