mepis will not detect NIC


I am a new user to this forum and dont know anything about linux. I have installed mepis and trying to set up my adsl connection. mepis will not detect NIC. It says eth0,eth1 not detected. Windows however does. can anyone help pls. ta

I guess you are in windows now. What kind of card is it?

the card is SiS 900 PCI fast ethernet adapter. mepis will not detect it and i am new to linux. need help. ta
