mepis - m$ network

Hey guys, im having some problems getting my network setup with mepis.

What i have working

- from mepis. i can access all computers.

- From my m$ boxes i can't access mepis, it asks for a username/pass and i type in the root or my user name i use and i still can't get in..

anyone know what i could of overlooked?

Have you added samba users with "addsmbuser"

it seems as MEPIS does not have this option..

btw. im using Windows XP in this network.
