Hi Vinay,

I'm not sure if your domain should be "test.com" or "root.test.com", using what i understand in your note.

As far as i know, you have to uncomment in /etc/mail/sendmail.mc the line

dnl MASQUERADE_AS(`mydomain.com')dnl to
MASQUERADE_AS(`root.test.com')dnl

Also, in order to send mail you have to include in /etc/mail/local-host-names your domain name (root.test.com), so sendmail can trust you as a local host.

I hope this could help you.

Regards,

Alberto

As atotomex stated you need to add your domain to /etc/mail/local-host-names and restart sendmail

To get an email address user@test.com put test.com in /etc/mail/local-host-names

reply MASQUERADE

Hi all,

Thanks for giving reply....I added my domain test.com into local-hostnames ...
then also i find FQDN(user@vinay.test.com)In this file iam given just test.com.It is enough or i have to give FQDN?

After Installation iam created one zone in test.zone in /var/named on that my entries like...

@ TTL 3D SOA vinay.test.com. root.test.com. (

)

IN NS vinay.test.com.
IN A 192.168.1.1

It is my zone file it is correct r any modifications there?
iam not created PTR and MX records it is required?
when i dig to test.com then it is showing status is ok.
