Red face mandrake 8.1 and alcatel speedtouch modem

I am newbie to linux and want to escape micro$omething.
I am please with mdk 8.1 but have no fun at all messing around with my sweet modem configuration.

Any clear newbie explanation would be welcome

I realy don't know. I can connect to the net but no surfing possible with browser. Any advice are welcome. Maybe a newbe question but gotta start somwhere.
