Hello all, I just discovered this board and I hope you can help me.
I installed Mandrake 8.0 and I have 2 ethernet (eth0 eth1) cards in the machine. During startup both of the cards fail to initialize. eth0 is set to DHCP (for my cable ISP, but I need to actually run a separate dhcp client to get it to work). If I go into X and then run the Mandrake network configuration tool, (draknet I think). I just view the settings and hit apply it appears to bring up the interfaces ok. After that I can run /etc/rc.d/init.d/network restart , and all the interfaces are brought up with the exception of the DHCP.
Any ideas why they don't work on startup or untill I launch the config program?
