Question

Hello,

I have no clue on how to setup a network with mandrake 7.2. I am trying to setup a linux network with 3 other window 98 computers. I have read a lot of readme, they do not help. I also have a linksys router and a LNE100TX (linksys 10/100 PCI card) and it said to use the tulip driver, doesnt work, then I read to use the ne2k-pci driver, does not work. What will work? I have used netconf to do the network thing, but it is suggested to use samba, where do i get that? I am REALLY confused, I have been working on it for over a week and I am getting frustrated with it. I am running Gnome. Please help, anyone.

As for your problems with the tulip driver, can i suggest you try using the older tulip driver. You may find it in the same directory as the new one, it will be called something like 'old-tulip.o' or you may have to get a copy of an older distro and take it from there.

HTH

cool, I will try that, because I get the et0: delaying or something like that at the beginning on bootup. As for the other things I got it to work last night, but me being dumb and forgetting to save the changes I booted down and went on today and it didnt work, and I forgot what I was doing, duh.

thanks

Brent
