Question mandrake 7.1 FA311 Netgear help

Just got this distro. I have been trying for the last few days to get FA311 module to work. When I compile it I end up with a load of 'parse errors'.

Have tried sycld.com but to no avail, mainly because I dont actually understand what I am trying to achieve.

Could someone please give me any assistance? I have fa311.h fa311.0 and fa311.c . At this moment I am going to try and find more about 'natsemi'

I will keeping trying and if i get it done I'll post it here as it seems to be quite a popular thread.

Thanks in advanced

addition: Have compiled driver successfully with

gcc -DMODULE -D__KERNEL__ -O6 -c ****.c -I/usr/src/linux/include /usr/src/linux/include/linux/modversions.h

There is a space between .....include and /usr/.....

where **** is the driver name. This code is written whilst you are in the same directory as ****.c

Still not connected yet as it cant find my card even though i have given the

options io=0x5000 irq=11 which is apparently are the right options according to the diagnostics program.

plug and play is disabled in bios any suggestions
