Unhappy Mandrake 10 doesn't like routers

i recently installed mandrake 10.0 offical to install on a computer as a server but when i plug it into my d-link router it lets me goto the router configuration page but all i can do is view the site not restart the router or anything like that. and it can't acess the internet in any way. also too even though it shows data speeds it says the cable is unpluged

then i tried it with my net gear wireless router i try to acess the configuration and i just get a white screen (yet it has the right title on the webpage) yet now i can acess the internet. now i even close the router configration page and from anthor computer on the router i try to configure it but it says device 192.168.0.163 is using it. it says its pluged .

i'm lost on wat to do, did they ever program mandrake to work behind a router?

(mind you all conections were hardwired not wireless)

thanks for your guy's help

open up console and do a /sbin/ifconfig and post up in here. after that also do a modprob for you nic card and see if its detected and post the info in here so i am able to help you go on with the problem tha tyou are having..

things that you can also try

1. unplug the router from power and restart it manually.

2. you can set up a static ip address in the linux opitions with the proper DNS servers from your ISP.

also when you installed mandrake 10.0 did you do a minimal install? also please specify your computer specs that you are using mandrake 10 on

thanks
