Mail Server on Red Hat 7.2

I just installed Red Hat 7.2. Durring the install program, I selected the server option, and installed a DNS server, a webserver, ftp server, and an internet mail server. Now, I can send mail just fine, but can't receive mail. Anyone have any ideas?

ok, redhat = sendmail. sendmail will initially only be set to listen internally for mail. edit /etc/mail/sendmail.mc and comment out the relevant line, ensure access_db is enabled as a feature. Recompile it as in the comment. add your host to /etc/mail/local-hosts or something, and add all internal machines on your network to /etc/mail/access.

restart sendmail and there's a chance it'll work. if not, you need to start testing the server, looking at /var/log/maillog for info.

have you installed the imap service?
Well, it's the first thing to receive e-mail messages..
in the 2nd cd, extract and install the imap*.rpm package. and
make the pop3 service online by editing the pop3s file in the
/etc/xinetd.d/pop3s and ipop3
there should be a line like disable = yes . Change that yes to no, and save.
restart xinet.d, you should be ok.
