mail command - no domain and message rejected

Here I am on one end of a cable modem connected to a well know ISP.
I wish tho use the old reliable linux mail command to send a batch of emails. ( Don't worry not spam)

I install ssmtp and put my ISP smtp mail address into the config.
Using the ssmtp command results in and error

" Sender address rejected: Domain not found"

I don't have a domain name.
If I try creating one, unsurpisingly it is not recognised.

I also use Evolution on my compute and it manages to send emails.

What am I missing here?

A valid sender address it would seem ...

What is it currently using?

You could set a proper one in the ssmtp config or on the command line.

mail command - no domain and message rejected [SOLVED]

As suggested the sender address needed to be set as the one recognised by my
Internet Service Provider.

So in /etc/ssmtp/ssmtp.conf configuration file I needed to set

Code:
mailhub=mail.myisp.com.au

rewriteDomain=myisp.com.au

FromLineOverride=YES
